Flood Insurance
Flooding is the most prevalent and expensive natural disaster in the nation.
Praetorian Insurance Company’s Write (WYO) Flood Insurance Program provides residential and commercial property owners with coverage against flood damage resulting from hurricanes, tropical storms, torrential downpours, and other circumstances. As an authorized WYO carrier for the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), Praetorian Insurance Company provides flood insurance coverage across all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
Standard homeowner and renter’s policies typically don’t cover flood damage. Just a little water can lead to thousands of dollars in damages. To ensure faster and more comprehensive recovery after a disaster, home and business owners should consider purchasing flood insurance. It’s important to understand what is and isn’t covered.
Floods can occur anywhere, not only in high-risk zones. Surprisingly, 25% of flood insurance claims arise from areas not categorized as high-risk flood zones. If your property is located in a low to moderate flood risk area, you may be eligible for NFIP’s more affordable Preferred Risk Policy (PRP).
